Thermostats by Treat’s Heating & Cooling
Your thermostat is the main control center for your heating & cooling. Programmable thermostats feature easy to read screens that allow you to program your heating and cooling settings and view the current temperature in your home. If this screen goes blank, you can’t do any of this. May units will show nothing on the screen indication there is no power going to the unit.
If you have a Honeywell thermostat, it will flash a low battery signal for about one to two months before the batteries in the unit run out completely. If you’ve been away or haven’t noticed this warning and the batteries no longer provide power to the screen, it will go blank. This can be easily fixed by removing the cover on the thermostat and replacing the batteries. You may have to reset the unit and reprogram your settings once the display returns.
If your thermostat is wired into your home’s electrical system, a blank screen indicates there is no power going to the unit, which means there may be a tripped breaker or a problem with the wiring. If the breaker controlling the unit hasn’t tripped, contact Treat’s Heating & Cooling or an electrician to inspect the wires. Sometimes a loose connection is enough to stop the power from running to the unit. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, you can have the thermostat replaced.
