Thermostats by Treat’s Heating & Cooling
If you notice that your thermostat screen is blank, there could be a few things that might be going on. Check to see if you have power in the home. If the power is out or has gone off then back on, sometimes the breaker for the furnace and/or air conditioning needs to be reset.
Many programmable and non-programmable thermostats are powered by batteries. To access the batteries you must pull the front plate off of the thermostat. All thermostats have a back plate that is mounted to the wall. The part of the thermostat that you see and touch, is the faceplate. Depending on your type of thermostat, you can remove the face plate by either pulling it out and down, or pulling it out and then up. If you are unsure of how to remove the faceplate, you can search online for the model of your thermostat and there are typically videos on how to remove the faceplate and locate the batteries.
All furnaces have a safety switch located next to the furnace itself. This switch typically looks just like an ordinary light switch. If the switch is up, you have power to the furnace and thermostat.
If your thermostat is still blank after checking the power, batteries and safety switch you can call Treat’s Heating & Cooling and we will send a technician to troubleshoot your problem. Call us at 360.825.0800
