Furnace Repair by Treat’s Heating & Cooling
A common problem homeowners run into each winter is their furnace blowing cold air. It can be incredibly frustrating when you can’t get heat immediately in the cold weather.
What some people don’t know is a furnace will blow cold air when it first boots up. If this is the case, you can wait a few minutes to see if it changes. The reason this happens is because furnace need to clear out the cold air that already resides in the vents.
If you haven’t already switched your fan setting to “auto” by adjusting the thermostat setting from “on” to “auto” is one small step that’s easy to miss when you transition from cooling to heating. When it’s in the “on” position your fan will run continuously. When it is switched to auto the fan will only come on while your furnace is running.
Another common reason your furnace will blow cold air is because your pilot light has gone out and won’t stay lit. You can call Treat’s Heating & Cooling to come out and re-light your pilot light.
If you are getting warm air from your registers when your furnace cycles on but then gets cold quickly, this could mean the flame sensor needs to be cleaned.
There are many different reasons that your furnace could be blowing cold air. Call Treat’s Heating & Cooling for an appointment. 360.825.0800
